The Patch Elementary Library was bursting with color, creativity, and the sweet scent of pumpkins this October as students participated in the annual Library Pumpkin Decorating Contest!

This fun fall tradition invited students to decorate pumpkins as their favorite book or movie characters, accompanied by a short write-up explaining their choice. The entries were as imaginative as they were impressive—our library was transformed into a storybook wonderland filled with familiar faces like Garfield, Elphaba, C-3PO, and Cinderella, among many others.

Each pumpkin showed incredible effort, from the clever use of materials to the thoughtful explanations that tied each design back to the character’s story. Mr. A, our awesome librarian, teamed up with several volunteer judges to carefully evaluate each entry based on creativity and effort.

The judges had a tough job—the talent and enthusiasm of our students shone through every pumpkin! While a few winners took home top honors, every participant helped make this year’s contest a huge success.

A big thank you goes out to Mr. A, our volunteers, and all the students and families who joined in the fun. The Library Pumpkin Decorating Contest proved once again that at Patch Elementary, reading and creativity go hand in hand!
