Hello Patch ES Families!

We hope this message finds you well and excited for the wonderful activities we have planned for the month of March. Our school community is alive with enthusiasm, and we are thrilled to share some important updates and reminders with you.

Read Across America Continues: Our wonderful PTA organized engaging science experiments for our students as part of Read Across America. These hands-on activities sparked curiosity and fostered a love for learning. Additionally, we appreciate the guest readers coming into classrooms to share their favorite stories, making this month truly special for our young readers. Next week we look forward to celebrating Fantasy Week with a book character dress-up day on the 19th.

Family Reading Night: Mark your calendars for March 21st from 5-7 pm! Join us for a fun-filled Family Reading Night where you can enjoy reading activities with your children. It's a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading together as a family.

Safety Reminders: To ensure the safety of all our students, please remember not to cross the bus lanes during arrival and dismissal times. This helps us maintain a smooth and secure process for everyone. Also, please note that pets are not allowed on campus. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our school environment safe and comfortable for all.

Spirit Day: Every Thursday is now Spirit Day at Patch Elementary! Encourage your children to show their Star Stallion spirit by wearing red, white, and blue, or any spirit wear. Let's come together and celebrate our school pride!

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Together, we can make Patch Elementary a vibrant and nurturing place for our students to learn and grow.

In Service,

Dr. Quinland and Mr. Pieper

Nurse Notes Header

We have had a rough couple of weeks with illnesses. Currently we have Strep, Flu, bronchitis, and a stomach virus. There are other viruses that are causing fatigue, dizziness, sore throat, and a bad cough. If your child has any of these symptoms, please have them stay at home. Per DODEA guidelines if a student has any cold or flu-like symptoms, they should stay home. Giving them medication before coming to school will not help other students stay healthy.

Medications should also stay home unless they have come through the nurse's office with a doctor's note. Several students have come to class with medication in their pockets or bookbags. Medicine and cough drops are not allowed in school unless they are being given by their parents in front of the nurse or admin. It is not safe for kids to carry medication in their backpacks.

Our goal is to keep the community safe and healthy. Please reach out to me if you have any questions at Bethzaida.matos@dodea.edu. We hope you have a great and safe weekend.

Best Regards,

Nurse Bethzy

Recess Revelations: Young Scientists Sparkle with Spectacular Science!

During the exciting Science Week of our Read Across America Month, the elementary school playground transformed into a bustling hub of scientific discovery. With the enthusiastic support of PTA volunteers, students eagerly engaged in a variety of hands-on experiments during recess. The young scientists explored the wonders of science with curiosity and creativity. The PTA volunteers played a crucial role in facilitating these activities, ensuring that each experiment was both educational and fun.

The success of Science Week was evident in the bright smiles and eager questions from the students. Students were so excited to share their discoveries and collaborated on new ideas. This special event not only ignited a passion for science but also fostered a sense of community and teamwork. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the PTA volunteers, Science Week during Read Across America Month became a memorable experience that inspired our young learners!
