Dear Patch Elementary Families,
It’s hard to believe, but we are down to just 11 instructional days before summer break! We are truly in the homestretch. While excitement is building, please help us keep the momentum going by reminding your students that learning is still happening every day. Your support in reinforcing the importance of staying focused through the finish line means the world to our teachers.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has submitted ICE comments recognizing our amazing teachers and staff. Your kind words lift spirits and energize our team—please keep them coming!
As we navigate these final weeks, a few important reminders:
- Check the weather forecast each morning. We’re seeing a mix of cool mornings, warm afternoons, and the occasional rain shower- layers are key!
- With many end-of-year events and item drop-offs happening, please remember to check in and out at the main office for everyone’s safety.
- Our library still has over 400 books checked out. If your child has any library books at home, please return them as soon as possible so Mr. A can complete his inventory.
As we approach Memorial Day on Monday, May 26, we encourage our community to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the holiday. Memorial Day is a time to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten. There will be no school Friday through Monday, so we hope you enjoy a restful and meaningful 4-day weekend with your loved ones.
In Service,
Dr. Quinland and Mr. Pieper

Final Applause: Parent Positions for the Big Clap-Out!
Our annual clap-out is on June 10 at 10:45 AM, the last day of school. This year, students will be exiting out of their arrival doors. All students will walk through the corral towards the playground side of the campus, continuing through to the fire lane and up the ramp. Parents should line the fire lane on each side to clap and cheer for students as they leave the 2024-2025 school year behind. If you have any questions, please let us know!

🧊🧊🧊Nice ICE, Baby! 🧊🧊🧊
Have you heard about the Interactive Customer Evaluation (ICE) system? It’s a special online tool that lets families share their thoughts about the services they receive at our school. Whether it’s a kind word about the front office staff, a helpful experience with our administration, or a shout-out to our amazing support teams, ICE comments help us know what we’re doing well and where we can grow. Parents can easily submit these comments online, and our school leaders use them to make sure we’re always providing the best service possible.
We’re thrilled to see so many positive ICE comments coming in from our wonderful families! Your praise means the world to our staff and help keep our school community strong and connected. Every comment is read and appreciated, and they truly brighten our day. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback—it helps us continue to grow and shine together!

As we are coming closer to the end of the school year, I wanted to remind those who have medications in the nurse's office should have them picked up by no later than June 9th. I will not be in the office from June 9th, as it will be my last day in the nurse's office. As a reminder if you did a new medication form this year, it is good for one calendar year. Also, most medications cannot be sent home with the student and parents must pick up the medication. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at Bethzaida.matos@dodea.edu. I will be sending out email reminders in the next few weeks as well. Have a great week!
